Wednesday

It is pretty obvious that I am not able to keep up with this blog. I want to have these small memories in a few years so I decided to try and keep it up once a week. Hopefully on Wednesday. *****NOTE: I CAN NOT GET THE POST TO PUBLISH CORRECTLY. I ALSO DON'T HAVE TIME TO KEEP TRYING TO FIX IT. SORRY~I KNOW IT IS ANNOYING******* 1. Birthday Party The house has been pretty crazy lately. As the boys reach their 18th month milestone they are changing...A LOT. Busy, busy, busy. Last weekend I had a small break in the craziness and had a small get together at my house. Shelby got people together from work to celebrate my and Amy's birthdays. She got here early and we cooked food, had some drinks, and watched Butler get into the Final Four...AGAIN! Here are some pictures of Shelby starting a fire. I haven't had a fire in the fireplace in years. Yes, actually years. It was a nice change (though my house still smells like a fire.) Anyways, grateful for the time spent with friends.
**Shelby was wearing all black so all you can see was the skin from her ankle.

2. Outside "Out"

The boys LOVE LOVE LOVE to play outside. There are no tantrums, no tears, no fighting (usually).....it is great. They just walk around, play with balls, and enjoy the fresh air.

Sort of sad that it is snowing outside right now...but still they LOVE being outside.

3. Owen

It has been crazy hard to get pictures of Owen looking at the camera. Yesterday afternoon he actually let me get one...and boy is it cute!

4. Apples "puls"

The new, WONDERFUL, thing that we do in the house is eat whole apples. The boys walk around and eat apples, sit and relax to eat their apples....they just love to eat whole apples. Maybe it is because the apple is in the shape of balls or maybe it is just because they are so yummy. Either way, it keeps them occupied for awhile with a healthy snack.
.

5. Sleeping

The boys both slept 20 minutes longer this morning. It was a nice surprise and much needed little break. So just to review, the usually get up around 650 or 7am. This morning 720!!!

sigh

Today was the type of day that I need to sit down and write out 5 things that make me grateful.

1. Top Chef
LOVE LOVE LOVE the show Top Chef. I am not able to watch much TV and this show is one of the few that makes the cut.

2. Giggles
The boys love to play chase and their laughs are contageous. They can play chase all afternoon!

3. Sales
The past few weeks I have been searching through the sales. I had coupons and was able to get some 24 month and 2T clothes. Cameron is wearing one of his new pajamas in the above picture.

4. The big 2-9
It was a beautiful day on my birthday. We had a BLAST. In the afternoon Mat and I went out to shop for bikes and ended up buying gourmet cupcakes. Yum. Here are the boys enjoying the special treat out in the great sunshine!!

5. Extra Pay
I hate picking up work. I actually used most of my awesome tax check in order to survive a few weeks without having to pick up any work. So basically everyone else pretty much felt the same way. Not only that....but people are starting to quit. That means that are starting to offer extra money to stay a few extra hours. It makes work a little more tolerable.

RSV

I know that I have not posted in two weeks but it has been a MAD house here. This post is going to be short and sweet. Hopefully life calms down soon.

1. Owen does not have RSV
Two weeks ago Owen was diagnosed with RSV. He was a mess and we made several trips to the doctor's office. I am so happy that this is over and he is back to his normal, smiley self. Here are some pictures of one of the many breathing treatments that he received.

2. Updates to the house
I feel like my house has been torn apart for months...but really it has just been a few weeks. The dining room and hallway floor are finished and there is new carpet in the toy room. We also finished the buffet. Grateful that all the work is done for awhile!
3. Cameron is taking breathing treatments better
Now Cameron has RSV. His is lasting a bit longer than Owen's. For the most part he is taking his treatments better than at the beginning. To be honest, I a pretty over the whole RSV thing lingering in the home. We even had to make a quick trip to the hospital.

4. Visit from the Harris Family
Last week Erin, Jess, and Sawyer made a trip to Indy. It was a great, busy weekend (all with a very sick Cameron on board). Hopefully I can get some more pictures posted soon.

5. Health Insurance and Pediatric Office
Grateful for wonderful doctors at the boys pediatricians office and health insurance. We have been there frequently and seen many different staff. They always made us feel comfortable. But like I said.....soon this will be over and hopefully just back to our well child visits!

March 2nd

1. Doctors
I would NEVER want to be a doctor. Ever. To be honest, I don't really want the boys to be doctors either. They work REALLY hard and spend many years in school and at work. I am grateful for these people and their families who sacrifice for us. I know that it seems simple and silly...but it's not. Tomorrow one of my friend's mom is going into surgery. I am so grateful for her doctors, nurses, and surgical team who are trained and know what they are doing. I am grateful for the families who have spent dinners without their dad or mom who instead spent a full day and night at work in the hospital (and years before that in training). Thank you, thank you, thank you. I could never do it.

2. The house
As many of my close friends and family know...... I have done NOTHING to the house in years. In the past 6 months this home has had a major facelift. Today hasn't been any different. I purchased carpet for the playroom and the floor in the dining room is still getting placed. Mat and I are STILL sanding the buffet. Still. It sucks. (But will look WONDERFUL when finished). Anyways, this little house is getting major work. And to be honest....it is EXHAUSTING.
.
This is a quick picture of the floor still being put in. Doesn't it look great!!

3. Sante Fe Soup
I must admit this receipe is both of the boys' ALL TIME FAVORITE. Yes, that needed all caps. I would give this to them everyday but oh boy the diapers are out of control. Out of control. Last time we had Sante Fe Soup I changed diapers 5 times...on Owen. Oh and as a side note, all day I called it "Cafe Sante Fe." I always change the name. Last thing....here are some pictures of the meal tonight. Yum. Yum. Yum.

(He doesn't like me to take his picture. I think he thought that if he didn't see me...I would not see him.)

Yes....we took baths immediately after dinner!!
.
3. Weather
The weather is starting to get better. THANK GOD!!! All of you caretakers know how great it is to have a change of scenery. So so so so so grateful to be able to get out of the house without our crazy, huge coats on.

4. Ashley visiting
This week Ashley came over to visit and hung out with us for a few hours. It was great to catch up and spend time with her. This picture is actually from Cameron playing on the couch while she was here. Looking forward to many more playdates!!

5. Today
I was able to get a TON of stuff done today. Not only that but by the end of the day (right now) I am worn out, accomplished, and happy. I had a good day, the boys had a good day, and I am grateful for our lives.
