Day in our life

I want to say sorry right off the bat....no new photos for this post.  Instead, I am going to do a quick timeline of one of our strange days.  Last Tuesday I picked up 7-11pm.  They asked me to stay until 3am.  I decided that I would do it (knowing I would have no help for the entire day on Wednesday).  At about 9:45 am I started to jot down what we were doing at random moments of the day.  So here goes.....

9:41
I have done 5 diaper changes this morning.  Three of them were poopy diapers.  I have ordered more diapers and two pair of size 7 shoes.  (They needed these about a week ago)  We are currently eating gummy bears.  The boys are actually bending down and eating the gummy bears directly from the floor.  For breakfast this morning we had yogurt and cereal (with the last of the milk) that I fed them myself with a spoon.  **I didn't want to clean up any messes** I also have no juice mix left.

10:34
We played on my bed.  I wanted to lay...the boys wanted to play.  I was attacked.  They started tickling me like crazy.  They LOVED it.  That was the first time they did this to me.  I will admit...I loved it too.

11:01
Found the pizza my dad ordered last night in the outdoor fridge so we had this for lunch.  Cameron ate TWO pieces.  Owen had some bites but wanted to play instead.  I have a potato in the oven.

11:24
"Down for naps. Window open.  YAY for life!!"

12:58
Up.  For snack we are having spoonfuls of peanut butter with milk chocolate chips on top.  **You don't need to read that again....yes...it really happened.***  We also had juice boxes left over from the party and all three of us are still in our pajamas.

3:44
Home from the library, visit to my parents, and Starbucks.  I picked the book club book, a audio CD on investing and a book about traveling the world.  After a short visit to my parents I drove all they way to Starbucks.  Talk about a SPECIAL treat.  I had an old gift card so I only spent .$36!  I purchased a triple shot (yes...triple) white chocolate mocha.  Regardless, it was a wonderful treat that I have not had in months.

4:05
Owen was pulling out Kleenex from the box, crumpling it into a ball, bringing it to me saying "garbage" and throwing it into the trash can.  Cameron was playing with a car in each hand.  I was sitting and drinking my amazing coffee.  (sitting...ahhh....)

5:48
Bath done. Finger paints cleaned up.  Bathroom cleaned.  Boys are dressed.

6:15
"The boys have sat through 14 minutes of Wonder Pets.  Should I be writing this down?"

6:20
Up and playing....but it was a good 15 minutes!!

***I don't have any more notes written down for the day.  But needless to say, we survived.***

October 22

1. Homemade paints
Last week a made homemade paints from pinterest.  They painted all over the tub and then once they were done they took a bath.  It was easy to clean and lots of fun.  It might become a weekly activity!

2. Friday DAY
This past Friday I actually worked a day shift.  I was shadowing in the staffing office so that I might be able to come to days every now and then.....EXCITING.  From 3-7pm I worked the floor and realized that I can still do the business of days.  I am looking forward to working days again....someday!
.
3. 8pm bedtime
Yesterday I was in bed by 8pm.  Yes....I was that exhausted.  I loved the boys' birthday but it knocked my on my butt.
.
4. Birthday Party
Here are a few pictures from the birthday party yesterday.  I don't have many pictures on my camera so these are all from my dad's.  The boys had a lot of fun.  Cameron was a bit territorial with his toys but no major meltdowns.  They loved licking the icing off the cupcakes and I have eaten enough snacks and treats this weekend to last a lifetime.  Yay to the boys being 2!!!

5. Book club
A quick shout out to book club...I had a GREAT time on Thursday night getting out of the house and having dinner and drinks at Emily's for book club.  I didn't finish the book this month but it is always so nice to sit around and catch up with these ladies.  I feel blessed to have them in my life!

Only 3

1. Activities
It has been an exhausting few weeks.  I have been picking up more work which takes away from sleep time and therefore leaves an exhausted mom.  Thank goodness for numerous activities that the boys love.

Using the Iphone camera to take pictures of themselves....

 Playing with pipcleaners....

 Thomas on the internet....

The new love of the bath...
It has been busy to say the least.  This afternoon I am going to try out a new Pinterest activity~exciting stuff.

2. Cameron is staying busy!
I am sure that I have mentioned this before but goodness does it make life easier.  Cameron is able to entertain himself every now and then.  He loves his cars, trucks, and trains and can just sit and play.  I LOVE it!

3. Date with grandma
On Tuesday my mom took half of the day off work and we went to the Children's Museum.  I must say that it was extra crowded so it made it a tad more intense.  We had a great time and Owen if threw a huge fit because he didn't want to leave.  That place is AWESOME.  Thanks mom!

Sorry--but I am tired and can't post anymore.  Going to shut my eyes for the last few minutes of nap time.  The boys turn TWO this Saturday and we are going to have a small get together to celebrate.  Yay!

The ZOO

1. Playground
We have been to the playground a handful of times lately.  Owen LOVES the swing.  LOVES.  Cameron is starting to become my daring one.  Let's just say...he is more daring than  He climbs and explores but still has fear.  Owen on the other hand has started to not even go down the big slides.  Regardless, they both love going to the park.

2. Healthy appetites
Glad that they are not 12, playing sports, an eating me out of house an home...yet.  These boys eat.  And if they like the meal they REALLY eat.  It is actually going to be scary.  Thought that this picture was cute with Owen peaking around the corner.  If you look closely you will notice that it is still dark out, the boys are in pajamas........so yes....it was an early morning today.

3. My afternoon nap
I have worked the last three nights and I have little sleep compared to normal.  This afternoon my dad came over so I could take a nap and then he stuck around and helped with dinner and playtime.  Because of this extra help I was able to clean the floors tonight, catch up on the blog, and basically function as a human being.  These pictures are from our early, exhausting morning.  I even tried to put the boys back to bed.  They just sat and played.  They were tired too....I guess just not as tired as me. Thanks dad!!!

 4. The ZOO
We took our first trip to the Indianapolis Zoo today.  Here is a picture of all the kids.  The zoo was not busy at all and we were able to see a ton of animals.  It was also a beautiful day outside!  Thank you Tanya for the invite and letting us use your guest pass!!  I am looking forward to our next trip.

5. My sister's promotion
What can I say...VERY proud of my sister.  She works very hard and it is paying off.  She got a huge promotion at work this week.  Wish I was there to celebrate with her!

bed head

1. Beautiful weather
The weather has been great last week, this weekend, and into the next week.  This is why fall use to be my favorite time of the year.  After naps we are off to the playground!

2. Life insurance & Finances
So the during the month of September I made another step into adult world and purchased life insurance.  It was an easy thing to do and I had a great insurance agent.  All of you new moms out there let me know and I will give you his name.  It is a MUST and mine was 2 years over due!

3. Lazy Days
On Friday we had a lazy day.  No gym (that is a new theme), Cameron stayed in his pajamas until after nap time, and we played in our OWN toy room!  Here are some shots of the boys trying to eat Carmel apples.

And this is us making my bed taking pictures with the Iphone.  Yes...I am still in pajamas too!

4. My parents
I can't say how grateful that I have my parents around to help with the boys.  Today my mom took the boys to church while I slept a little extra before work tonight.  Then they went over to their house for a morning of playing outside and lunch.  Here are some photos of my dad putting the boys into Star War pajamas from Aunt Erin on Friday night.  Thank you for all of your help!!

5. Bath time is BACK
I don't know if I ever posted that the boys HATED taking their baths.  I am sure that I did.  It was traumatizing for everyone in the house.  Well those days are over.  Owen actually nods his head when I ask if he wants to take a bath.  They love it and don't want to get out.  Yay!!!

Apples

1. 7:30 am...Owen is still asleep
Cameron has been up for awhile this morning but Owen is STILL asleep.  No need to say more.

2. Krista and Jiles
Blaise is working in town until December so we had our first of many play dates with Krista and Jiles.  Jiles is such a sweet baby and it was great to catch up.

3. Tutles Orchard
Yesterday Mat and I took the boys to the apple orchard.  The boys LOVED it.  Last year they sat and watched from the stroller but this year they ran through the trees screaming, "AAAAAAPPPLLLLEEE!!!!"  We also picked up some pumpkins for the front porch.

side note: Owen had 4 poopy diapers that afternoon

4. Apple bread
Yesterday afternoon I made apple bread with my new stock of apples.  I was able to eat a slice before I went to work and it was wonderful.  Yay to Pinterest.  Life changing.
.
5. Clean house
What a difference a clean house makes.  It actually makes me tolerate my house again.  This week I cleaned the bathrooms.  Yes....such a big deal it needed a post.

....Owen just woke up and Cameron jumped out of his breakfast seat and is trying to open the door.  ....it begins....
