Just one.

1.  The weekend
I have a feeling that the weekend is going to start making appearances again on the list when I am working 8-5.  Weekends and comfy pants.

Anyways, we had a great weekend this weekend.  We spent the day at Holiday Park, Mike and I went to see Joe Rogan, and on Sunday we did dinner with my parents and another hour at the playground.  It was exhausting and wonderful.  Perfect weather, perfect company and lots of fun.

My new favorite picture.
NOTE:  You hike painstaking slow when you hike with a two year old.

Ohhhhh the gym.  They swore that they played basketball and in the maze.

We had the perfect seat at the bar at Bru Burger before the show.  Then we hit up Bazbeaux afterwards.  Clearly I was in heaven with all of the great eats!

Doozy

It has been over a week since my last update which means LOTS of pictures and as always, lots of stuff to be grateful for.  We will start with the most important -- Father's Day -- and then go from there.

1. Our main man
I can't say enough wonderful things about Mike being a dad.  It is inspiring to watch him with our littles.  He is kind, gentle, fun and completely silly.  He takes care of us so well that we are able to just enjoy life without a care in the world.  He is the absolute best.

On Father's day we did our yearly donuts with dad and then had a cookout with the neighbors.  It was nice the spend the day just being with Mike.  Thank you for being our person!

2. Friends for life
I am obsessed with Nicole.  She refreshes my soul.  Last night all four of them came over for dinner.  It was great to sit and catch up. As always, we pick up easily where we left off.  SOON SOON SOON Rouzer and I need to get to Boston.

 3. The twins
Last Friday I took the twins and Tucker to the Children's Museum.  It was empty which was heavenly!  Mike was able to stay for the first hour which was nice to have another adult to talk to while the kids ran around.  They had a blast AND I had a blast taking them.  Grateful for a few last Friday's off.

4. More dates with the twins
On Saturday I took the twins on a date to see Captain Underpants since they finished their books.  It was great to have a few more hours with them by myself.  These two are getting too old and I am grateful to sneak in snuggles, long hugs and crazy moments.

5. The everyday
The long days, the quick ones....the everyday.....I am so grateful that I get to do every one of my days with these boys.  It strange how life tosses us around and how we are able to chose the paths that we do  --- I think that fate brought me here BUT I think that I also ended up here by a lot of freaking sheer luck.  I am so grateful that though I would rather have my toes in the sand most days -- I get to do all of my days with Mike and the boys.  I am happy and I really enjoy life.  I don't think that most people are able to say that....and because I do get to say that -- I am grateful.

6. Mismatched socks
The twins wear mismatched socks most days.  I makes me laugh but it has really just become part of the routine.  **The first time they stayed at Greg's he told me that they were wearing mismatched socks and it reminded me that doing that is not normal.**

7. "Daddy Number 1"
When I get Jack from daycare he always wants to hold his daily report sheet.  He immediately proceeds to read the form and every day he points to the paper and says, "Daddy number one."  The first day it completely through me off.  I am not even sure how Mike taught him that but clearly Jack knows that Mommy is number 1.  So that is that.

8. best student, best support
Yesterday I finished ANOTHER class for school.  I am crushing my goals which is awesome -- I want this school stuff to be OVER.  July is going to be crazy with all of our weekend trips and my new job so I anticipate the pace will slow down for a few weeks.  Either way -- another class is COMPLETE.

Yesterday when I found out that I passed my test Mike said, "You are the best student and I am the best support."  He is CORRECT (about the support thing).  I could not spend so much time behind my computer without him figuring out the rest of the house.  He has picked up all of the loose ends.  He cooks all the meals, plays with the boys, and helps me make sure that I take time to get my school work accomplished.  I know that these past few months have been HARD.  I have no extra time to sit and just BE.  He just silently supports and encourages me to keep going and GET. IT. DONE.  He is the best best.

9.  Garage door FIXED
On Saturday our garage door died.  What??!!  Mike and my dad quickly fixed it while we were at the movies.  I am sure it wasn't quick to them but I was pretty impressed with their handy work.

The Main Characters

1. My new J.O.B
A few weeks ago I was asked to interview for a second job within CPN (I didn't get the first one that I mentioned about 2 months ago).  I applied and this job seems to be a MUCH better fit -- strange how the universe works out that way.  I am now the Practice Administrator for the Cardiology group at CHVH and I am pumped.  I will not be wearing scrubs anymore -- what?!!!??  And I will be working 8-5 M-F (yeah that part is wonderful but also hard).  The hardest part of my new job was having to let down my boss Julie and then tell the night shift staff.  For a week Julie knew that I had the offer and we talked and discussed the Pros/Cons back and forth.  It was clear that she wanted me to stay but she also wanted to be a good mentor and friend and help me figure it all out.  Once I officially decided to move on I need to wait for JoAnne to come back from vacation so I could tell her in person.  After that I emailed the unit.  That night was rough.  Nurses and PSPs were in and out of my office.  Two of the staff who had previously told me that they were only staying on the unit for me were working that night and they both told me that they were going to leave too.  The look of disappointment across everyones faces was a bit astonishing.

I know that I am tooting my own horn right now and think really highly of myself .....all enough to write down on this blog.... BUT I am doing it for a reminder.  There are so many times a day that I fail.  Especially with my job and managing people.  Holy -- it's hard and I completely understand why so many people do not want to get into management.  This is where I have truly found one of my passions.  I know that I will fail more and have hard days. I will say the wrong thing and for sure hire the wrong people (oh I cringe to think about that).  But these past few days some of these people have just filled my heart with love and it is something that I am grateful for and something that I need to document.  I did some screen shots of different texts, Facebook, and posts on instagram.

2. Shopping
It is common knowledge that I am TERRIBLE at shopping.  A few years ago I tried stitch fix and they have successfully, slowly built a closet.  I stopped for awhile but now that I have to dress professional everyday I am in a world of hurt.

First -- I own one pair of black pants.  The ones I purchased for my interview.  I own no other dress pants or skirts.
Second -- I own one pair of workout shoes and one pair of gym shoes for work and a TON of sandals and flip flops
Third -- I own 3 necklaces.  One huge chunky necklace from stitch fix, my diamond necklace from Mike and my locket with Erin's picture
Forth -- I own 2 regular bras (one that is strapless) --I usually wear sport bras to work and around the house.

Fifth -- I never considered myself a tom boy since I don't really love sports but clearly I am.  wowzers.

I have LOTS of shopping to do. I have started and started last week after our date to Ruth's Chris.  Then on Thursday my mom and I were out for hours trying to find some classic items.  I have been successful finding a few shoes on Zappos and I might make a trip down to the outlet mall soon.  Wish me luck!  Oh and it goes without saying, obviously I am so grateful that I have a little bit of savings to help with my shopping spree. If I didn't, I would be in a world of hurt.

Oh and one last thing.  I officially finished my first semester in school.  It was a bit rough and I gained some weight from sitting at my computer and neglecting the gym.  Hopefully I will be able to keep beasting out these classes and be finished within the year!

 2. Baseball games
This afternoon is our last scheduled game.  It is the first playoff game so depending on how things go we might have another.  Owen and Cameron are doing a lot better since the beginning of the season.  We need to practice throwing and catching but they have been able to consistently hit the ball and usually get on base.  Greg has taken over all responsibilities of baseball so he can have something special with them and I think that it's working out pretty well.  Though it was fun to watch them run around doing T-ball, this season has been great watching them work, compete and actually keep score.

3. Walks with Jack
He rarely sleeps anymore on his walks but I still love enjoying the evening with him and Nash.  Last night he did not fall asleep but then he slept in until 720!!!!  Score!

He frequently requests to hold my hand through the cracks of the stroller.
 4. Grandparents
I can't say enough about my parents and all of their love and support.  Usually once a week Rouzer and I make a last minute call so we can go to dinner without the kiddos and they come over to help.  These kids are OBSESSED with their grandparents.  Owen and Cameron both said that if they couldn't live with me...they would want to live with them.  I know that my parents but some type of crack into their IPads but regardless....the kids are hooked.  Jack frequently wants to FaceTime with them and just laughs and laughs and laughs.  These days are the sweetest.  So grateful that they are so wonderful.

5. Rouzer
I couldn't let a blog post go without mentioning Rouzer.  I made him wait all the way to the end to find out the particulars of why I am so grateful for him.  Of course all of the normal reasons...his kindness, love, smarts, good looks, hard work, and sense of humor.  BUT this week I want to highlight my extremely clean house.  Thank you for having the staff come here to work.  It looks and feels great.  So. Freaking. Excited to officially be on the rotation.
