Golf

1. Nap time
I am grateful when nap time actually happens for both boys at the same time. This is a picture from this morning. Cameron refused to sleep so he was helping me put laundry away. Right now he is getting PT so I have a feeling we are in for a melt down soon.

2. Clapping
Cameron started clapping all the time. It is pretty cute. No idea who taught him this but I am glad they did.

These pictures are from last night before bed. They can brush their teeth FOREVER.

3. Tree is gone!
So Monday morning I woke up and the tree was getting cut down. Once I got back from picking up the boys it was just a pile of dust. It was a success.

**No...he didn't take the tree down. But he did ask me to take a picture of him so it looked like he did.

4. Golf Lessons
Learning golf is on my "To Do" list. Last night I had my first lesson. It was great. Now I just hope I have time to have more!
.
5. The guest room
The second bed for the boys that is set up in the guest room gets used every single day. I am glad that my mom thought of this and I am glad that it works.

Saturday Night

1. Being the mom
This afternoon and evening I watch Savannah while Kelly and Matt went to a wedding. I loved spending time with her. She was fun to be around and so stinking cute. I do want to say though...when I was putting her to bed I thought about my own two boys. I have such a routine, I know what works, and I know what doesn't. I love being a mom. I love that my boys smile when they see me. Kelly is a wonderful, WONDERFUL mom and just being around her and her little one (even when the boys are not here) makes me proud to be a mom.

2. Weekend
I am exhausted...to put it lightly. BUT it has been a good weekend so far. Tomorrow I will be able to spend more time with Matt and Kelly and then SLEEP. The picture at the bottom of the post is Owen on Friday morning laying down in front of the gate. (I call it his jail.) He was so tired too but I wanted him to sleep in the car on the way to Chicago and boy does he love that blue blanket.

3. Fried Chicken Salad
....with cheese and ranch (lots of ranch) dressing. Oh my goodness...yum.

4. The dead tree will be gone
There is a huge, dead tree right in the middle of my back yard. It is actually pretty close to the house. Last week it started breaking huge branches off into the yard. I decided that I should not tempt fate any longer and have the tree taken out. So Monday is the day....no more tree. And yes...feel sad for my wallet.

5. Paying it forward
It is unbelievable how much people amaze me every day. People that I don't even know and that I will never meet. This generosity is something that I will never forget and I will work hard to instill in my boys. So many people have made a difference in our lives. Thank you thank you thank you.

August

1. It has been a busy month
August has FLOWN by. And yes...I know that it isn't over. I have been super busy (I think that Owen crawling doesn't help) and have not had time to write...or take pictures really. Sorry!

2. Birthday Invites
Today I ordered birthday invitations from Shutterfly for FREE. Well I used all the pampers points. I must admit...I am pretty excited about the whole thing. Thanks Erin for always saving them.
3. Herron
This week I did a focus group with Herron about Kleenex and got $250!! Much needed and EASY.

4. I am not 20
So this weekend I had people over to celebrate a coworkers bachelorette party. I thought I was 20. I'm not...and to be honest...I am glad that I already did all of that nonsense. I am sure I will think I am 20 in about another month...but at least not for awhile. I am still recovering.

5. Beer
People brought over alcohol and we already had tons here on Saturday night. The point is...I have BEER in my fridge. I can't even remember the last time I had beer in my fridge. Usually I enjoy a nice, tiny glass of wine. I must admit I am sort of excited to have this beer at the end of the summer. (I am sure it will still be there fall and winter too!)

Monsters

1. 9 month appointments
Today the boys had their 9 month appointments even though they are a few days shy of 10 months. It went well. I was glad that we were going because Owen has been grabbing at his right ear for a week now. No other fuss...so I never took him in. Owen didn't have ear infection but Cameron did...in his RIGHT ear. Besides that nonsense they are great. They are huge monsters, but great.

2. Shower
I am about to jump into a much needed shower. When the boys were little they would sleep or just lay there all the time. Now they are crazy maniacs and I either nap or do chores during their nap time. They crashed at 6:45 pm so I am going to jump in the shower when they are guaranteed asleep.

UPDATE: So I shut my computer off for the night, checked on the boys, and got into the shower. When I got out of the shower both boys were screaming bloody murder and Owen is not falling back asleep. This is why moms don't take showers.

3. Car seats are IN
I know that I have posted this before but I hate to install car seats.

4. Bushing Teeth
Tonight I was holding Owen while he brushed his teeth. Every once in awhile he would give me the tooth brush to put in my mouth and then immediately take it away. He thought it was pretty funny. I know that this is random but it made me smile.

5. The floor
So my house is in shambles right now. My dad started working on the floor today so we moved all the furniture out of the room. The bottom picture is when I set the boys up to watch him work during their morning snack. The top two are from this evening when Cameron was grabbing at Owen. These pictures make it look like he is trying to comfort him. As you can tell...Owen was over it.

Busy Life

1. Play dates
I love our play dates with Tanya and the boys. This morning we woke up, got dressed, ate breakfast, and headed over to play. It was nice for the boys to have new toys and for me to be with another mom. Tanya also gave us new sippy cups to try which will hopefully give us some luck.

2. Tiffany
After the nap this afternoon Tiffany Childress came over and brought us new car seats. She was able to stay and chat for awhile and it was nice to catch up. Thank you so so so much for the car seats. They are going to be put into the car tomorrow morning!!

3. Being a Butler Theta
Today Shannon Murphy, a Gamma Theta Alum, was the co-host on Regis and Kelly. I know...insane. Proud to be a THETA.

4. Wine
I am enjoying a small glass of wine right now as I finish my day, put the car seats together (I had to wash them), and then go to bed. It is already 9:30....getting pretty late!!!

5. The State Fair
This was the second time that I went to the fair...ever. I went once before to a concert with Ashley. The boys were pretty tired but they were troopers and took everything in with a watchful eye. I think that they actually liked it. Here are some pictures of the evening.

I think that this picture makes him look like a giant. And no...I have no idea what he is doing.

Monday

1. A new week
Last week was a tough one for me. It was emotionally draining and the weekend didn't get much better. I am glad that it is a new week and a fresh start. Here is a picture from last week. I was sitting right next to this little man when all of sudden I heard the gush of coke spilling onto the floor.

2. Garage Sales
This weekend I was able to go to a few garage sales in the neighborhood. I bought a few new toys for the boys. I ended up cleaning them and putting them away. I am going to pull them out when Cameron has therapy and Owen attacks all the new toys the therapist brings. Hopefully these new toys will keep him occupied
.
3. Starbucks Frappuccino
Lots of the staff drink these little drinks at night. I decided to buy some and wow...new addiction.
.
4. Aunt Pat
This weekend I got a care package in the mail from my Aunt Pat. It was a great surprise and helped brighten my day.
.
5. Exercise
This one is going to be hard to believe. Saturday I did the elliptical for 30 minutes. I don't know if I would call it a work out...but it was a start.

Food

1. Twins in the tub
Tonight was the first time the boys took a bath together in a real bath tub. They loved it.

2. Dinner
We had dinner at my parents tonight. It included spaghetti from Maggianos. I think that I am the only one who ate...ALL OF IT. Yum.

3. Night
The day is almost over. My eyes were heavy and I decided to get off my lazy butt and come post these photos. Glad to be asleep soon and start again tomorrow.

4. Sweets
So I must of been craving sweets last weekend went I went to Walmart quickly before work. Here is a list of what I purchased: sugar cookies that you bake, cinnamon rolls, raspberry lemonade, mini candy bars, and cake mix. Yes....this is for real. I obviously bought more than that but I think that it is starting to go to my hips.

5. Holding the BOTTLE!!!
So Cameron is consistently and successfully grabbing and holding his own bottle. To be honest I didn't know if this day would ever come. He has no interest in doing something that someone else will do for him...that little stinkpot. Anyways...only I would cherish these little victories.

No pictures

1. Four days down
I worked the past four nights. It actually went great. I worked with great people and had great patients. Glad it is over though...not going to lie. I have a few days of break until next weekend.

2. No more weeds
I was able to pull some weeds in the HEAT this weekend. Now I don't have to pull up to my house and be appalled by my own weeds.

3. Boys are home
The boys have been in Chicago and they are back and playing in the toy room. Love it.

4. Returns
The car seats that I bought last week were the wrong ones. Thank you to Greg for pointing it out to me before I opened the boxes and caused more problems for myself. Glad that I can easily bring them to the store to return.

5. Kiwi
Right now kiwi is only 25 cents. It is usually 33. Yum. I have three sitting on the counter right now.

Happy Birthday Mom

1. Climbing
I don't know if he practices in his spare time but Owen successfully went up and down this step without a problem yesterday evening. I am very impressed with him and nervous for what he has in store for me.

2. Hands and knees
Cameron was bouncing on his hands and knees yesterday evening while we were at the pool. He is able to stay in this position and tolerate it for longer periods of time. He is even moving one of his hands forward to reach for a toy. He is going to be crawling around Owen pretty soon!!

3. The pool
My pasty body is proof that we have not been to the pool in a long time. I can't believe it is already August. My parents came over at the end of Cameron's OT and we got the boys ready and took them over to the pool. It was a great evening.

4. Car seats
The thing that actually makes me happy is that when I went to Babies R Us yesterday I looked at our car seats and realized...we needed new ones. Buying two new car seats does not make me happy but figuring out that it is time......yeah......just glad that the boys will be safe.
.
5. Coffee
This little thing really picks me up in the morning and throws me full speed into my chores. I am going to make some right now to make it (with a smile on my face) until nap time.

The Greats

1. I own a CD...lots of them
This experience happened a few weeks ago but I can't get over it. Stephanie Santos from work is 20. She was shocked that I owned CDs. She looked at me like I was doing drugs or something. I can't seem to get over that I am 28 and so different than a 20 year old. I know..what was I expecting. I actually felt old. Having babies, getting married...those things didn't make me feel old. But owning CDs...and listening to them...wow. Old.

2. Showers
Now that Owen crawls everywhere I feel like I don't get to take a nice shower...everyday. I decided to stop taking my morning naps with the boys and get a nice, full shower in. Love it.

3. Ceiling Fans
This has been on the list before but this time for a different reason. Cameron LOVES ceiling fans. Today when I was getting dressed I put him on the bed and he just got a huge smile and started getting so excited to watch the fan.

4. Pampers Points
Erin just sent me more pamper points. Pretty exciting. Now I need to upload photos to shutterfly and order prints.

5. The Greats
We made another trip to Valpo. This time my parents came along. It was great to spend time with the family and we can not fail to mention the great food.

It has been a week

1. Busy weeks
Yes...it has been a week since my last post. It has been a busy ass week to be honest. It has been great...but busy. Times flew by and tonight I am exhausted and don't really feel like updating the blog but...yes...it has been a week.

2. My cell phone
Glad that I have not lost my cell phone. Basically what else can I say besides that.

3. Occupational Therapist
I love Cameron's new therapist. She is second in line to my love for his pulmonologist. She comes again next Thursday.

4. Kara
Being able to text the pediatrician at 6:30pm is very helpful.

5. The Fang Family
During this busy week the Fangs came over for dinner. It was great to see the kids and especially to watch them entertain the boys. Look forward to our next meal!
