Hard work

Getting to the blog has been VERY difficult. We have been busy doing normal "life" things. The boys FINALLY got haircuts (a few pictures at the bottom) and we have been enjoying the sun. We are outside most of the awake hours if weather permits.

1. Haircuts
Those of you who are actually around the boys know....this was LONG over due. We were easily able to get in and out and even got some balloons to take home.

2. New windows
My dad has installed two new windows in the boys' bedrooms. Now I am able to open them and get fresh air. This process looked hard and man oh man has it been hot out. Thank you dad!! Now just one more to go.

3. Dinner at my parents
Tonight we ate dinner over at my parents. Yum. Not only is the fridge filled with leftovers, it was great to get out of the house and have extra hands to take care of the little ones. They are all over the place and love to run around and explore.

4. Yard work
Mat and I have put in HOURS AND HOURS (this is not an exaggeration) to clearing out the front of the house. Basically, all around the house is overgrown with weeds. Not just your normal weeds, but weeds that grew into trees. No joke. So anyways, the front is now cleared and is just mulch. No ivy, no weeds....nothing. Ha. Now I just need to get some plants. I had mulch delivered to the house and there is mulch in the back, one side, and front. Now I need to tackle the last "side" to accomplish my new, New Years Resolution. Yay to completeing this HUGE project!!

5. Spray Sunscreen
This is little invention is awesome. I must say that I probably use double or even triple the sunscreen but it is worth every dime. I am able to spray the boys down and let them at it. We usually end up in diapers. It is quick and painless. LOVE IT.

Favorite Things

1. Nap time
It will be a sad day when there are no more naps. It is 7 minutes until 9am and the boys just both easily went down for a short snooze. I must say....they have been up early with lots of whining, so I am thrilled to sit down and have some peace.

2. New activities
I have been trying to think of things to keep the mind of an 19 month old occupied. Earlier this week I tried finger painting. They were a bit hesitant but it worked. The activity kept us busy for a whole 8 minutes. Added bonus....new art for the walls.

3. Being silly

This phase of life will be missed. Don't get me wrong....it is tremendously exhausting but those moments of silliness are so much fun. I went out to get the mail yesterday and when I got back in the boys were playing inside the toy bin. (It was actually a nice moment of no screaming, hitting, or fighting.)

And yes....they do have diapers on. It was just a hot one yesterday so no clothes for awhile!

4. Three of Cameron's favorite things

Balls, being scared, and being outside.

5. Three of Owen's favorite things.

Cars, fruit snacks, and reading.

The wagon

1. Blog
Back onto the blogging band wagon. This past weekend I read through tons of old posts and reminisced on memories and pictures of the boys one short year ago. I decided that I needed to post more so I can remember the details of our day to day lives.

2. Savannah and Kelly visit
Last week they made a short visit on a HOT afternoon. It was so nice to spend the afternoon under a shade tree catching up on life. Wish they lived closer!

(Goodness....the boys need haircuts!)

.

2. Sandals

We got new sandals from Once Upon A Child. This means that summer is almost here! On a side note...... I have been finding apples hidden in shoes lately. No joke. This picture was not set up. These shoes are sitting on a side table right next to the door.

3. Bike

Mat got me a new bike for my birthday. (Yes...months ago) This past weekend we rode to Bazbeaux (yum) and got caught in a huge storm on the way back. Love the bike and love the pizza. Here is a picture of us, drenched, when we got back.

4. Clean smelling garage

Last week I really couldn't handle the smell of the garage anymore. I gave the dogs a bath, brushed them out, cleaned their beds, and swept the garage. I bought plug-ins for the garage...and now it smells great! Here are some pictures of the boys exploring the cages while they were being cleaned. I loved their outfits this day.

5. Family meals

Today AND Monday we had dinner with my parents. The boys love seeing them and to have those extra hands and free food is just an added bonus. So glad that they are such a huge part of our lives. I am one extremely lucky gal.

Mother's Day 2011

1. Sunny, spring days
The boys LOVE to be outside. Last week it was hot and sunny here in Indy. Here are some pictures of the evening at my parents. It was right before bed so my dad was able to catch some shots of Cameron's notorous meltdowns.

2. Mother's Day 2011

What another great mother's day. The family spent a great afternoon at my parents. The kids are starting to get a tad bit older so they actually started playing together. I was actually exhausted from a long weekend, and then had to work that night for another 12 hour shift but still enjoyed time with everyone. The was great food and lots of laughs.

Here are some shots of us trying to get an entire family picture. It was pretty funny.

3. The "back up"

I don't know if I have posted this before but it is a pretty standard way of "sitting" in our house. If the boys want to sit in your lap they turn around and back up taking 5 or 6 steps backwards until they fall into your lap. It is actually pretty funny....but like I said, pretty standard.

.

4. Fresh air

The three windows to the boys rooms do not have screens. I decided that it was important to have fresh air (plus I am WAY to cheap for the air conditioning until completely necessary) so my dad has installed 1 of the 3 windows and it is GREAT. Yay to screens!!

.

5. TV in the car

Yes. I am too cheap for air conditioning but I purchased DVD players for the car. A few weeks ago I got an Elmo DVD from the library and the boys love it. Now they get into the car, point to the screen, and say, "Mo!" Oh the luxery of being born in 2009.
