Lawton Loop

1. Mile repeats
Today I was able to sneak away from Owen's soccer practice and get some miles done at Lawton Loop.  It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL outside.  I am still on cloud 9 that I was able to run a few miles including one as fast as I could.  It killed me and then made me instantly grateful for my beast mode body a few years ago.  Such a great run tonight.  Cheers to the many miles that I have pounded out on this course.

2. LDI
Leadership Development Institute for work is great for a many reasons.  My top two reasons: good food and very minimal emails from the day.  Per usual I struggled with my attention span and need to drink insane amounts of water but overall it was great to get out of the office.
 3. New Favorite Martini
Hands down I am loving this new martini.  Yum Yum.  Now I need to have a party so I can serve it to all of my millions of friends.
*1/2 shot infused rosemary vodka
*1/2 shot raspberry vodka
*1/2 shot triple sec
*shot of cranberry juice
*muddled fresh raspberries
*fresh lime juice

4. Pies at work
This week at work we donated money to the American Heart Association to throw pies in our coworkers' faces.  It was the strangest thing to get a pie thrown at you.  Our staff is LOVING it.  Today a few of the providers were able to partake in the action.

5. Jack is staying in his bed
Last night I lost my shit because Jack was STILL AWAKE at 940pm.  HELLO?!?!?!?  So tonight Rouzer gave him a pep talk and threated to lose some privileges.  It worked.  He hasn't gotten up.  **It's probably from his LACK OF SLEEP but we will just stick with the pep talk story.

5 then captions

1.  Food Fight
Has this made the list?  I love this gem of a book.  Jack has the entire story memorized and I love hearing him read the book to me.

2. Meal Planning
We have done a magnificent job of meal planning the past few weeks.  I am pretty impressed regarding our beast mode.

3. Yard Work
Mike was able to get a tad bit of yard work done yesterday.  He trimmed up trees left and right.  Since we have been at the lake all summer we have done a fabulous job of ignoring our own home.  I am grateful we got some work done.

4. Salami & Cheese
Has this made the list?  It is my current snack obsession and is probably the reason why I can't seem to move the scale.  Oh holy hell this packet of sliced salami and cheese makes my heart SO HAPPY.  Yes, this might be my current favorite item in life.

5. King size bed
So since I am on a roll of talking about my favorite things I need to make sure that our new bed is added to the list.  I am sure that it has been on the list before but I am loving having a king sized bed.  Our queen made its way down to the lake house.  The best part of the new mattress for me is that I can't feel any movement.  Mike is all over the bed some nights and I rarely wake up.

My dad headed over to the team huddle at the break during Saturday's soccer game.  Glad he is able to participate in something he is passionate about.

Owen was able to paly against his friends.  He was in heaven.  This is exactly why we moved leagues.  Glad it worked out.

I am sure you can caption this one yourself.

After soccer we hit up Clay Terrace to get some shopping done and had dinner for the night.

He was explaining to me that this is coffee and not milk.

I am going to try and recreate Rosemary Raspberry martinis.  I am pretty pumped to try.

Lunch this afternoon with my mom.  That meal was the best that I have had out in awhile.  Public Greens was SO. GOOD.

Early mornings with my little.  He usually grabs me and says, "you are the best mommy" "Let's cuddle mommy" "I love you so so much mommy." I'll be honest - it's a great way to start the day.

a week

1. Weekend snuggles
Both of these shots were taken last weekend around 630am.  I am grateful that I can sit down with my babies and steal a few snuggles.  It's insane how quickly they are growing AND I sadly feel like I never see the twins.  I am so happy we had a great weekend that we did a lot of PLAY.

2. Headbands
In a moment of trying to distract SBJ I pulled out the game of headbands.  We have played it multiple times a day since then.  It is absolutely hilarious.  Usually he looks in the mirror but still acts completely surprised by his card.  Then, when giving hints to us he just tells us exactly what is on our card.  I know it sounds lame when I type it out but it has us all in stitches for the entire game.

3. The playground
Yup.  It made the list again.  The kids played in the splash pad and got soaked. They ran around and had a blast AND we all had a great time. I am not sure why we don't spend more time there - we are all pretty obsessed.

4. My grandma came into town
It has been YEARS since my grandma was able to come to Indy.  The last time she was in town it was for Erin's funeral and I only really saw her in passing.  Before that it was for the twins first birthday!!!  She had a lot of catching up to do.  It was so great to sit down and spend some time with her.

5. Catered meals
This was our for our breakfast interview this week and then we had lunch catered as well.  It's not that big of deal because we have EVERY lunch catered.  It is a fabulous perk but it also gets very caloric.

6. Terrible soccer teams build character
I think that this soccer team has made me lean more towards travel soccer.  I loath the thought of spending so much time at the field BUT it will be nice to have a coach that knows the details of soccer.

On a better note: This was the first game of the season and Owen scored!  The cheering squad (which included my grandma) was freaking out!

On point

1. We have the kids every night this week
Because the whole bus thing has given us trouble in the past we try and have the boys stay here for the first week or so to get the driver acclimated to our stop.  I know that this might sound silly to most people BUT the twins have been left on the bus....more than once...because their stop was skipped.  That means that this week they have been with us every night and it is pretty freaking wonderful.

2. Rock climbing
Cameron is a beast at rock climbing and Owen knows how to hold his own.  90% of the reason we took them tonight is to stop listening to them continually argue with each other.  It's over the top.  We were only out for an hour and it was pretty heavenly to not have to break up any arguments.

3. Mike's new job
This stud officially started at Zionsville High School.  He is a permanent guest teacher so right now he is bored out of his mind BUT I think that he is still excited to be back in the world of education.  My favorite part personally is that this has sparked his interest in reading.  I LOVE sitting and reading books before bed each night.

4. Meal Prep
Since Mike took a drastic pay cut AND because we want to be as financial fit as possible we have start to meal prep again.  We have been really successful this week.

5. I don't get a lot of mosquito bites
When you talk about the small things in life that make life pretty fabulous....this is for sure one of them.  Mosquitos and bugs are attracted to all three of the boys and Mike.  Sometimes I will have a bite or two but usually bugs don't bother me.  It's pretty wonderful.

Penn Station

1. The first day of school
This year our first day of school went pretty smoothly. The boys felt like old pros.  Owen wanted to wear the same outfit that we wore the first day of second grade and Jack had a super hero day at school.  We had LOTS of rain so I was glad that we were all able to make the trip down to the bus stop.

2. Monday night yoga
I know that I have recently added this to the list BUT here is an actually picture of us waiting for class.  I am obsessed with this class.  And of course this man.

3. Impromptu celebration
It is official official that Mike is going to be a permanent substitute teacher in Zionsville.  He has his degree and license in teaching so he is finally trying to get his foot in the door.  I am SO FREAKING PUMPED that he has the courage to follow his dreams.  This will be interesting for sure and I am excited to be by his side.

4. Bloomington Farmer's Market
Saturday morning we made a quick trip to the Bloomington Farmer's Market and I instantly fell in love.  It made me want to make a million new recipes, fill my home with fresh flowers AND start a flower garden in my yard.  It was great to try something new.

5. Cedar Creek
Next to our house is a cute little distillery, winery AND brewery.  Yay - I agree that it is a bit much BUT we instantly fell in love.  I am excited to spend more time there with draft beer, food from home and lots of space for our kids to run around and play.

6. Pam and Bruce visited
I was great to have Pam and Bruce to visit at the lake house for the day.  My parents finally got in the water, Jack napped on the boat, we had an AMAZING dinner and lots of fun.  I wish that the twins were there to party but I am sure they had a great weekend in Chicago.

bedtime

1. No arguing
It's almost bed time and my children are now playing an imagination game together.  No fighting. No arguing. No electronics.  Just good old fashion toys, imagination, and the joy of brotherhood.  And it is bedtime.  FML.

But I am still grateful that they are doing it so I will type up a quick five and give some time for the argument to break out.

2.  I made a goal
....and I plan on making some more.  The month of July has been a little rough for me.  I do so much better when I have a goal, dream, vision....whatever.  I have to fully believe and have a solid reason WHY but it is so much better once my head is in the right place.

oh no....the fighting has started

3. Back to school night
Last night we headed back to Forest Glen to meet the teachers and bring our supplies.  It is still amazing to me each time I see the teachers talk with the children in Spanish...and they understand what is actually being said.  Legit - I beam with pride even though that EVERYONE in the school is in the same boat - it makes me super proud.

4. Sleeping In
This morning I took full advantage that the bus was not coming.  I laid around, enjoyed my coffee, took my time and strolled into work a little past 8.  (I did work a TON of hours yesterday with early and late meetings so I don't feel too bad.) Anyways, I fully enjoyed not rushing around making lunch, getting myself ready and the crazy of the school day morning.  Oh holy hell was this morning great.

5. Wine
I have been LOVING, like LOVING my beer.  LOVE.  Yesterday I was craving a glass of wine and so I made a special trip to Kroger in the pouring rain for wine.  I had it last night and tonight and it is heavenly and smooth and wonderful.
