1. Christmas tree
Today Mike and I picked up a Christmas tree while the boys were at school. We are running extremely short on time so instead of waiting until next week and going to the Christmas tree farm we hopped over to Lowes and got an awesome tree for a TON less. We also got a smaller, live tree for the boys room. It doesn't have any decorations yet but I am already loving it.
2. Dinner at my parents
We had pizza two nights in a row but it was great to have dinner at their house tonight. We are both exhausted and so it was nice to not have to worry about dinner and dishes. The boys were extremely well behaved besides using the word "please." Always when they come back from a long week at Greg's they stop saying please and thank you as often. No worries…getting back in the habit…,
3. CDs
In my new I have found a ton of CDs. I haven't found the actually location of the disc changer but on the stereo there are so many options that I don't know if I have even heard all of the CDs yet.
Yes, you read that correctly….I purchased a car that has at least a 5 disc changer of some type in it…that is filled with CDs….and I have no idea where they are located. Anyways, there is a variety of adult and children's music and I think that it is pretty wonderful.
4. Elf's personal space
This morning I got pretty close to elf (like 7 or 8 inches) and I said, "Elf you are so crazy how did you get in there." Because elf was hiding in a lantern. Cameron looked at me and said mom, "personal space." He said it dead serious and with a very concerning look. I was a bit confused and said, "your's or elf's?" And he said, "elf." I was just in shock so I went and let Nash back inside while Cameron went to the bathroom and Cameron said, "right mom? I was right." How can you argue with that? Of course he was right…I was all up in Elf's personal space.
Stupid story I know but it made me smile this morning.
5. Volunteer time
Today Mike was able to spend almost 2 hours at the boys school reading, playing, and doing small group work. I forgot to attach a picture but he had a blast. Grateful that he had the opportunity and that the boys were so excited for him to be there.
