we are here

1. We made it to the beach!
It took us 15 hours …most of them were wonderful but a few around lunch time the adults started to melt.  Legit --we have FABULOUS kids in the car.  I am still not excited for the ride home but so grateful for the smooth ride here.

2.  A few days of sun
There is a tropical storm in the atlantic so beach time has been a bit rough.  Grateful that the first few days we were here the boys enjoyed the water.  The surf is much more rough than I am use to but they had a blast.  I think that we will be in a "no swim" lock down for the next few days.

3. The family
I can not say enough about the awesome company that we have this week.  I think that at this exact moment I am most grateful for their help with Jack and the boys.  Because of the crazy winds it has been hard to take Jack and the boys to the beach.  Connie and Jenna have been loving on our sweet little one and taking over.  It has been so great.

4. Date Night -- food crawl -- drive
Last night we did our typical food crawl.  It was so yummy and so nice to be without the boys.  We first stopped to have Crawfish (Mike has been wanting crawfish for 3 years). Then we went to a tapas restaurant and finished with ice cream.  We headed home early for a walk on the beach and a dip in the hot tub.  Jack gave us some trouble at the beginning of the night but he ended up sleeping past 7am!!!  It was so nice to spend some time with Mike.

5.  The ease
We have been able to lounge around on vacation.  Nothing planned.  Nothing on the agenda.  Sometimes that is a bit harder with strong winds, no beach, and 3 boys to keep entertained -- but it is also good for the soul -- to calm down and enjoy just being alive.
