1. Sunflower is out of the house
This past weekend Cameron took home the class elephant, Sunflower. When your child takes home Sunflower you are supposed to take pictures and write in a journal. The kids love it...parents hate it. Therefore this weekend, when I remembered, I would pull Sunflower out and snap pictures. We had an insanely busy weekend but somehow we only managed to snap three pictures. I remembered to take Sunflower to school today...... yes, the parents have to do this project because the kids are only 5!! Hello!!!!!
2. The weekend is over
Don't get me wrong, the multitude of parties and fun things to do is nice but all I really want to do is spend time with my husband and kids. I know...I am that lame person right now. We had 3 different birthday parties this weekend and then my grandparents were in town before they headed to Florida so on Sunday night my mom had a large group of people at her house for dinner. LOTS was packed in the past 4 days. I am grateful that it is over and next weekend nothing is planned.
NOTE: I think that all of the time with family and friends is important. But for sleep deprived moms it is nice when all of the chaos is over.
3. Night time routine
I am starting to perfect our new night time routine. I start significantly earlier and usually things go significantly smoother. This picture was from one night last week when we were trying to eat cookies and do books at the table. That didn't work. But overall, things are looking up for the craziest part of my day. I even gave Jack a bath tonight at 630pm!
4. Shameless
I started to watch the show Shameless on Showtime. It is not my favorite show in the world but it keeps me mildly entertained.
5. Starbucks coffee break
This afternoon I decided to take my life back and started with a Starbucks. Jack screamed most of the trip there and back but it was still a wonderful part of my day (all 500 calories). Not only did I get Starbucks, I ordered Jimmy Johns tonight. It was also extremely wonderful. I feel very full and very ready for bed.
